Chantilly Lace: Check the Format
Bear Family’s retailer catalog describes a Mercury/Polygram CD, catalog CD832902, EAN 0042283290228, with ten tracks. These include Chantilly Lace, Pink Petticoats and White Lightnin’. Its description says this CD omits two songs from the original 1958 LP, so the same album title does not ensure the same contents.

Hello Baby — You Know What I Like!
Bear Family’s own compilation, catalog BCD 17109, is listed as one CD with 31 tracks and a 52-page booklet. It combines Big Bopper recordings with tribute and answer records by other artists. Check the artist credit for each track rather than assuming all 31 performances are Richardson’s.

Buying Checks
- Confirm whether the item is a CD, vinyl record or another format.
- Match the catalog number and full track list to the edition you want.
- For used copies, ask about disc condition, playback issues, booklet and packaging.
- Separate Richardson’s recordings from later tributes and cover versions.
- Check delivered cost, shipping to your country and the seller’s current return terms.
A familiar title or cover does not establish an original pressing, an autograph or an appraisal value.
